Errors kill the Astros!

So I sat down today on the couch to watch the Astros begin their road trip at Chicago to take on the Cubs, and I had hopes that the Astros would play well. I based my hopes on how they finished up before the all star break with showing some signs of improvement, and winning some games and of course the celebration of Biggio’s 3000 hit which is amazing. Jason Jennings got the start for the Astros and he just didnt get the job done. He gave up 4 runs with 3 of them being earned, he did strike out 7 but he also gave up 10 hits. The bottom of the 4th inning was when he got into real trouble and the deffense didnt help at all. The one play where Lamb threw the ball over Berkmans head and then Berkman chased down the ball only to throw it back over Lamb’s head reminded me of the type of play you only see in Little League. It was frustrating and it cost the Astros 2 runs. The Astros commited 4 errors, One error on Berkman one on Lamb and two on Loretta. Carlos Zambrano threw a solid game for the Cubs going 6.2 innings striking out 7 and only giving up 3 hits. The Astros had just 5 hits as a team and they just looked poor out there today. I hope they can turn it around and play like major leaguers tomorrow and get it together. Oswalt will take the mound for the Astros tomorrow and Lilly will be on the hill for the Cubs. I have faith for tomorrow but the errors have to stop and the bats must come alive.
