Mondays game of the day

July 17, 2007 § 1 Comment

I thought todays game between the Giants and the Cubs would be an interesting match up. I thought it would be exciting to see the Giants 23 year old fire baller Tim Lincecum face batters like Sorriano and Lee. Lincecum was impressive but he did get into a little trouble with back to back walks in the seventh when he was pulled from the game. Lincecum gave up one run off two hits with 8 strike outs. The Giants would take the lead in the top of the 8th with an error on Sorriano as he miss played a ball in left. But the Cubs would take the lead in bottom of the 8th with a 2 rbi double by Ramirez. The Cubs would go on to to win this game 3-2. This was a very exciting ball game and some very good pitching by both starters.

This isn’t going to be an interesting rest of the series in future games. These two teams weren’t built to play each other. The Giants don’t have the talent to match the Cubs. I think Monday’s game of the day should have been the Yankee’s and the Blue Jays. A great game when A-Rod hit his 496th bomb. The Yank’s jumped out to 4-2 lead, then Toronto slowly tied it up. However, the Yankee’s came back and Riviera saved it for them. A classic game.
