The Chicago Cubs who are having a great season and are right in the hunt are now on a 3 game losing streak. The good news for the Cubs is that the Brewers are also on a 3 game losing streak. Tonight the Cubs send their ace Carlos Zambrano to the mound to face the Astros. Zamrano who has turned around an early season slump is now 14-7 with a 3.42 era. Zambrano has been very dominant for most of the season but his last outing was shortend a bit due to cramps. The Astros will be sending Roy Oswalt to the hill. Oswalt is 11-6 with a 3.55 era. Tonights pitching match up is a good one and I beleive that this will be a good game. I am a bit surprised to see the Astros winning the first 2 games so far in this 3 game series. The Cubs are also missing a big key to their team and that is Alfonso Soriano who is now on the 15 day disabled list with the quad strain. The Cubs hope for him to return soon. The Astros are also missing their sensational rookie center fielder Hunter Pence who is also on the disabled list with the wrist injury. The pitching match up in tonights game will really set the tone for what should be a great game.

The Astros nudged out the Pirates tonight 2-1. Carlos Lee’s 1st inning homer was all it would take to get the Astros the win. Astros starting pitcher Roy Oswalt was throwing a very good game but had to leave the game in the 7th after giving up a lead off double. Oswalt suffered from chest irritation and had to leave the game. This im sure is gonna put concern on all Astros fans especially since the Astros have really been struggling as of late, and to have the ace go down is never a good thing. Oswalt is 9-6 so far this year with a 3.80 era with 104 strike outs in 146.2 innings pitched this season. Hopefully its nothing serious and Oswalt will be ready for his next start.
